SOQUEL, SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL. Soquel Creek Water District adopted its 2025 Urban Water Management Plan at a June 16, 2026 board meeting. The district highlighted the adoption in an August update on long-range water planning.
What residents should know
California water suppliers update these plans on a regular cycle to evaluate projected supplies and customer demand, reliability during dry periods and investments needed for future operations. The district says its new plan looks ahead approximately 20 years.
The plan sits alongside Pure Water Soquel and ongoing conservation efforts. Water supply planning is particularly important for a service area historically dependent on groundwater and concerned about seawater intrusion.
Adoption of a planning document is not a claim that every recommended project is fully funded or built. Actual future infrastructure decisions require budgets, approvals and implementation steps.
Customers can read the district’s adopted document and ask questions at public board meetings, including about conservation targets and affordability.
